Jessie Taylor Is a 23 year old mixed media artist and muralist. Originally from Long Island, New York, She came to Tampa 5 years ago to earn her BFA in Studio art from the University of Tampa. While getting her degree, she went after every opportunity she could in hopes to learn, grow, and get her work out there. Some of these experiences included Gasparilla Festival of the Arts, A feature on Wfla news, and an internship with BB Art, which led her to collaborate with and paint in Porsche Tampa, the Tampa Bay Lightning arena, and many local businesses. A semester before her graduation date, May 2023, she accepted a full time job with Anthropologie as a display artist. Managing being a student while working a full time art job continued to challenge her and teach her so  much about herself as an artist. she recently decided to take a leap of faith and leave her job to pursue her own art full time. Since then, she’s continued to  create pieces that push the boundaries of traditional paintings. Utilizing easy  accessible objects such as house paint, fabrics from recycled clothing, or paper collages, she strives to show the viewer that any found  object can be made into art. her work typically explores themes and lessons she’s learned throughout her life and journey as an artist, such as taking risks, following your dreams, and going against the grain.
